Instructions

Step 1
Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack set over a tray for maximum crispiness.
Step 2
Season: Pat the drumettes completely dry with paper towels—this is the secret to crispy skin. Toss them in a bowl with the oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Step 3
Bake: Arrange the chicken in a single layer. Bake for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the skin is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Step 4
Simmer the Sauce: While the chicken bakes, combine all glaze ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5–8 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly into a syrupy consistency.
Step 5
Toss: Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and immediately toss the hot drumettes in a large bowl with the glaze.
Step 6
Optional Finish: For extra "stickiness," return the glazed chicken to the oven for 2–3 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
