Instructions

Prepare the chicken filling

Step 1
Heat 1½ tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and ¼ teaspoon salt. Sauté until the onion becomes soft.

Add the shredded chicken and fry for a few minutes. Add ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder and mix well.

Add 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for 2–3 minutes over medium heat, stirring continuously.

Pour in ½ cup milk and cook, stirring, until the mixture becomes thick and almost dry.

Add the shredded Mozzarella and mix well until combined. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Assemble the sandwiches

Remove the edges from the bread slices. Place one slice of bread on a flat surface and spread some chicken filling over it, leaving a small border around the edges. Do not overfill.

Place another slice of bread on top. Press the edges firmly to seal the sandwich. Repeat with the remaining bread and filling.

Prepare the coating

Step 8
In a plate, combine ¼ cup flour, ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder, and ½ teaspoon salt.

Dip each sandwich in the milk first, followed by the flour, making sure all sides are evenly coated. Then dip it into the egg, coating all sides as well.

Toast the sandwiches

Step 10
Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the coated sandwiches in the pan and fry until golden brown on all sides, including the edges.

Remove from the pan and cut each sandwich diagonally into halves.

Serve

Serve hot with tomato sauce or your favorite dipping sauce, if desired.
