DIY steak tacos with creamy smoky sauce (low sodium)

Our family loves tacos! This time made with steak, rainbow slaw and a yummy smoky sour cream sauce. Optional: pico de gallo.

Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 220C.

Generously season the steak with no-salt Tex Mex seasoning.

Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet or frying pan on high heat and cook the steaks for 3-4 minutes on both sides, or longer if you want it well done. Set aside to rest for 8 minutes.

Place the tacos in the oven to warm up. Don’t use the microwave, they’ll only go soggy.

If not already, shred the cabbage and carrot.

Half the avocado and scoop out the flesh. Cut into chunks.

To make the sauce, mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, tomato sauce and smoked paprika.

Cut the steaks into thin slices.

Arrange the slaw, coriander, avocado, meat and sauce on a serving plate. Put the warm tacos in a basket. Serve and enjoy!
