Instructions
Step 1
In a medium pan, melt butter on medium heat for about 5min, stirring continuously, until browned. Butter will foam and then start to recede and smell very nutty with browned bits in liquid when done. Immediately move to heat proof dish and refrigerate 30mim until cooled.
Step 2
In a large bowl, cream together butter, both sugars, and salt.
Step 3
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Step 4
Sift in flour and baking soda. Fold with spatula.
Step 5
Fold in chocolate chunks.
Step 6
Refrigerate 30min or overnight.
Step 7
Preheat oven to 355 degrees F. Use ice cream scoop and give cookies plenty of space (8-10 per tray). Bake cookies for 10-12 min until browned on edges (let them brown!)
Step 8
Remove from oven and sprinkle with flaky salt.
