Instructions
Step 1
Dissolve the butter in a pan and add the flour.
Step 2
Stir until the mixture forms a smooth paste which leaves the sides and base of pan cleanly.
Step 3
Cook for 1 or 2 minutes to cook out the taste of the flour.
Step 4
Add the cream a little at a time, mixing well with a whisk. (See note below)
NOTE:
Step 5
The mixture should be creamy. If it is not, add a little children stock or water to achieve the desired consistency.
Step 6
Add cooked peas and chicken.
Step 7
Add salt and pepper to taste
Step 8
Combine well.
Step 9
Serve immediately on buttered toast
