Step 1
In a large part over medium high heat add 2 tablespoons butter and olive oil. Once the butter is fully melted add in sliced onions and sauté while stirring occasionally for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes add in remaining butter, salt and pepper. Continue to sauté for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until onions are brown and caramelized. Add in Worcestershire sauce and beef broth bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes. Slice French bread and place onto a foil lined sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for five minutes at 350° until toasted then flip and top with shredded cheese place back in the oven until the cheese is melted. To serve place your soup in the bowl and top with your bread and enjoy.
