The Perfect Garlic White Rice

It’s quite literally the perfect companion to any protein. Level up your boring white rice! (This recipe will work with any grain of rice you choose but my personal preference is jasmine)

Instructions

Step 1
1.) Portion out 1 cup of dry rice.
Step 2
2.) Pour into a colander for rinsing. Rinse under cold water until the run off water is no longer cloudy.

3.) Grab a small sauce pan with a lid. Begin heating over medium/high heat (the lid is off at this point in time).
Step 4
4.) Once pan is hot add 1-2 tsp of olive olive. Allow to heat for 15 sec then add 1 tbsp of minced garlic. Sauté until aromatic.
Step 5
5.) Add your cleaned rice and toast over high heat continuously moving it until the rice has a golden color to it.
Step 6
6.) Add room temperature water as listed on the package of rice for the specific amount you are cooking. (For example 1 cup dry rice to 2 cups of water)
Step 7
7.) Bring the water to a boil before reducing the heat to a simmer. Sprinkle in 1 tsp of salt and cover the pan with the lid.
Step 8
8.) Simmer for 15 min.
Step 9
9.) Remove from stove and allow to sit with the cover on for 5-10 min before eating.
