Step 1
In a medium sauce pan over medium heat, cook the onion until translucent. Add garlic, chili powder, black pepper and fry until garlic is fragrant.
Step 2
Add tomato paste, salsa, maple syrup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, whiskey, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil. Stir. Be careful not to burn.
Step 3
Trim pork of excess fat and place in slow cooker. Pour sauce over pork. Cover and cook at high for 5-6 hours, or low for 10 hours.
