Instructions

Step 1
Combine coconut milk and water in a pot. Add salt and sugar. Stir.

Bring liquid to a boil.
Step 3
Add rice, return to a boil.

Give the rice a stir, cover, and reduce to a simmer.
Step 5
Simmer until the liquid is absorbed. Check at 15 minutes, being careful to release as little steam as possible.
Step 6
Once the liquid is gone, sample a small bit of the rice. If not done, add another a small amount of water and cook for another 5 minutes.

Optional

Step 7
Add a cup of dried coconut once the rice is cooked for an extra burst of flavor.
