Ingredients

chili
1 lbground beef pork mix
1can diced tomato
1can spaghetti sauce
1can sliced mushrooms
1can kidney beans
drained and rinsed
1can chick peas
drained and rinsed OR chick pea and navy bean mix
1 headgarlic
peeled and minced
2onions
medium, diced
2 stalkscelery
finely chopped
1bell pepper
diced
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
3 Tbspchili powder
¼ tspcrushed red pepper flakes
1 Tbspparsley
1 Tbspbasil
1 Tbsporegano
1 tspthyme
Instructions
Step 1
- Sauté beef pork mix in large pot. Add diced onions and mushrooms.
Step 2
- If you wish to use a crock pot, pour meat mixture into crock pot now or continue cooking on the stove top in a large pot.
Step 3
- Add minced garlic, celery, drained canned beans and chick peas, canned diced tomato's, diced peppers, spaghetti sauce, and spices.
Step 4
- Cover and let simmer for 1 to 3 hours stirring occasionally.
Step 5
- For the last 5 to 10 min, partially remove the lid from your pot to allow it to thicken up a bit.
Step 6
- Dice up some cheese to drop on top.
Step 7
- Serve hot and enjoy.
