Instructions

Garlic Mayonnaise

Step 1
To make garlic mayonnaise, add garlic, vinegar, salt and egg to a plastic container or cup and begin to blend using an immersion blender (this can also be done by hand with a whisk or in a larger blender, however I have had the most luck with a hand blender). Slowly stream in your oil of choice while blending until mayonnaise has reached your desired thickness.

Toast

Step 2
Slice your tomatoes and place in a small bowl with vinegar, salt and pepper. Let sit while you toast your bread to desired doneness.
Step 3
Cut toast in half if desired and spread garlic mayo across each piece.
Step 4
Place fresh basil leaves on your toast, followed by your quick-marinated tomato slices. Finish with flaky salt (I prefer Maldon brand).
