Step 1
season chuck roast on all sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder

sear chuck roast on all sides

once all sides have been seared add the Au Jus Gravy Packet, Worcestershire sauce, A1 sauce, minced garlic, sliced onions, and 12 oz of beer

stir that around and cover with a lid

Set slow cooker to high for 3 to 4 hours; or low for 6-8 hours.
Step 6
when meat is cooked and tender shred meat and discard any extra fat
Step 7
spread butter on sub rolls and toast them in a skillet
Step 8
build sandwiches with meat and cheese
Step 9
broil in the oven just long enough to melt the cheese
