Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400. Prepare pie crust (prick with fork) and bake for 6-8 min until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack.
Step 2
Toast pecans for approximately 10 min on 350. Set aside.
Step 3
Combine caramels, butter, and water in large saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly for 5-7 minutes until caramels and butter are melted. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 4
Stir together eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir into caramel mixture. Stir in pecans.
Step 5
Pour into prepared pie crust. Bake pie on 400 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350. Shield edges of pie with foil to prevent excessive browning. Bake for 20 additional minutes. Remove pie to a wire rack to cool.
