Instructions
Step 1
YIELD: 3-4 dozen
Step 2
Preheat oven to 350°
Step 3
* In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening and sugar.
Step 4
Beat in the egg and molasses.
Step 5
Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
Step 6
* Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into balls.
Step 7
Dip one side of each ball into sugar; place with sugar side up on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Step 8
Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned and crinkly.
Step 9
Remove to wire racks to cool.
