Instructions

Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
Step 3
3. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. Set aside.
Step 4
4. In a large bowl, cream sugar and eggs together with a hand mixer until light and fluffy, about two minutes.

5. Slowly stream in butter, milk and vanilla.
Step 6
6. Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Gently fold in apples and pecans.

7. In a medium bowl, whip together cream cheese filling with a hand mixer.
Step 8
8. Add 1/2 of the batter to prepared loaf pan and spread evenly across the bottom. Top with cream cheese mixture. Add the remaining 1/2 of batter, covering the cream cheese completely.
Step 9
9. Bake for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 10
10. Let cool on a rack for 30 minutes before removing from pan. Continue to cool completely before slicing, about 1 hour.
