Ingredients
4 servings
2 cupschickpeas
boiled
¼ cuptahini
3 tablespoonslemon juice
2 clovesgarlic
crushed
¼ cupExtra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoonwater
½ tablespoonsalt
¼ teaspoonchili powder
¼ cupparsley
chopped
Optional as a substitute of EVOO.
Instructions
Step 1
Put tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt and water in a deep dish.
Step 2
Stir the ingredients with a hand-held mixer until the tahini becomes very smooth.
Step 3
Add 1/2 a cup of the boiled chickpeas to the tahini mixture then mash it together using garlic pestle or potato masher until the mixture becomes very smooth.
Step 4
Add the rest of the chickpeas while stirring the ingredients with a spoon.
Step 5
Pour the “Msabbaha” into a suitable serving dish and drizzle olive oil on top.
Step 6
Garnish it with crushed chili & parsley.
Preparing the optional Butter & Pine nuts instead of Olive oil:
Step 7
Heat the butter in a frying pan over a medium temperature, then add the pine nuts and stir it until becomes a light golden color.
Step 8
Pour the butter and pine nuts over the Msabbaha,
Step 9
Serve Msabbaha with pickles and Pita bread.
