For the cake mixture
5egg yolks
5egg whites
70 gramsmilk
60 gramsbutter
melted
90 gramsflour
1 tspvanilla extract
70 gramswhite sugar

Instructions
Step 1
For the pattern, we’re gonna mix al the ingredients: egg whites, powdered sugar, softened butter and flour. Then mix your food colouring with the mixture, till you have the desired colour. Put the mixture in a little piping bag. Make the pattern you want on a baking sheet. You will eventually bake the cake on this baking paper. When you’re done, put it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
Step 2
Now we’re gonna make the cake mixture. Mix the egg yolks, milk, melted butter, flour and vanilla extract. When incorporated, add the flour and mix it gently into the batter.
Step 3
Now beat the egg whites with the sugar in an other bowl, till you have stiff peaks.
Step 4
Mix the egg whites gently into the other cake batter.
Step 5
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees celsius for 25 minutes.
Step 6
After baking, roll up the cake with baking paper and a little powdered sugar in between. This will keep the cake from sticking and it won’t tear when you actually roll it up later.
Step 7
For the caramel filling, we’re gonna melt the butter with the light brown sugar in a saucepan. When it starts to bubble, add the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Let it cook for 5 minutes, transfer it to a heat-resistant bowl and let it cool down.
Step 8
For the cream filling, beat the heavy cream with the condensed milk. Mix it into a light whipped cream.
Step 9
Now roll out the cake again. Put a layer of whipped cream on the cake, then a layer of caramel and then chopped pecan nuts.
Step 10
Now carefully roll up the cake.
Step 11
You can now decorate the cake with the remaining cream, caramel and pecan nuts.
