Instructions

Step 1
Mix together two cups of flour, the salt, the sugar, and the yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer.
Step 2
Pour the hot water into the dry ingredients and mix until smooth, about 1 minute.
Step 3
Add the leftover 1 1/2 cup of flour and mix until the dough comes together. Add extra flour if needed.
Step 4
Knead the dough in the mixer for roughly 5 minutes. Dough should still be a little sticky.
Step 5
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and rise until double (about 45 minutes).
Step 6
When dough is almost done rising, turn the oven to 375° and place the butter in a 9x13 pan. Place the pan in the oven just until the butter is melted, then remove.
Step 7
While oven is heating and butter is melting, turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and roll into a rectangle about 16 in long and 10 in wide. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough in half lengthwise. Then cut the dough crosswise into 1 inch strips.
Step 8
Fold each strip in half, twist, roll in the melted butter, and place side by side in two rows in the prepared pan. Sprinkle the top evenly with Parmesan cheese.
Step 9
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
