Instructions
Step 1
1. In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, sauté onions in butter until tender. Place apples on top of onions. Combine remaining ingredients; sprinkle over apples.
Step 2
2. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Uncover and simmer until apples are tender, 5 minutes longer. Serve with a slotted spoon.
