Frozen Banana Bites

It’s important to start with ripe bananas, or bananas that are yellow all over. If your bananas are green, they’re underripe. And if they’re very soft and covered in black and brown speckles, they’re too ripe.

Instructions

Step 1
Line rimmed baking sheet (or large serving platter) with parchment paper. Place bananas on cutting board. Use butter knife to cut bananas on diagonal into ½-inch-thick pieces.
Step 2
Place chocolate chips in small microwave-safe bowl. Heat in microwave at 50 percent power, stirring occasionally with spoon, until chocolate is melted, 2 to 3 minutes. Stir chocolate until smooth.
Step 3
Dip half of 1 banana slice in melted chocolate. Let excess drip off. Place banana on parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining banana slices. Sprinkle chocolate-dipped parts of bananas with toppings (if using).
Step 4
Place baking sheet in freezer and freeze until banana slices are frozen solid, about 45 minutes. Serve.
