Instructions

Step 1
Put oven on 180 reg / 170 fan

Step 2
Butter and line tin of choice (20 cm square gives 16 squares)
Step 3
Combine all ingredients except oats and heat on medium for sugar to completely melt and consistency to start to thicken
Step 4
Stir through oats thoroughly then transfer to tin. Flattened to level with back of spoon
Step 5
Bake for 15-18 mins, check at time. Longer = drier and crunchier, if you like softer then 15 is likely your best bet (when cooled these are still firm, just softer centred)
Step 6
Vary ingredients with different sugars, spices, treacle, fruit, chocolate, seeds.. just make sure when it is all mixed in it isn't too dry.. may need to add a bit more syrup
