Instructions

Step 1
Grease a 9 inch tube pan and preheat oven to 375.
Step 2
In a separate small bowl, mix walnuts, cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar in a small bowl. Set aside.
Step 3
Beat margarine in large bowl until creamy. Add remaining 1 cup sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each. Add vanilla.
Step 4
Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Add sifted ingredients alternatively with sour cream to butter mixture, beating after each addition.
Step 5
Spread 1/2 of butter in the pan. Top with apple slices.
Step 6
Sprinkle 1/2 of walnut mixture over apples.
Step 7
Spread remaining batter over all and top with remaining walnut mixture.
Step 8
Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
Step 9
Remove from oven and let stand in pan for 30 minutes. Remove from pan.
