Instructions
Step 1
Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Drain.
Step 3
Brown the chopped onion and ground beef in the 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet.
Step 4
Melt the 4 tablespoons butter in a saucepan.
Step 5
Add flour and seasonings and mix well.
Step 6
Slowly add milk and Worcestshire sauce, mixing well.
Step 7
Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thickened and smooth.
Step 8
Remove from heat and add cooked spaghetti and ½ cup of the grated cheese.
Step 9
Place half of the spaghetti mixture in the bottom of a buttered 9-inch square baking dish
Step 10
(2-quart capacity), top with half of the meat and half of the sliced tomatoes.
Step 11
Repeat layers, and sprinkle the top with the remaining ¼ cup grated cheese.
Step 12
Bake in a 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
