Air fried protein chips: salted egg yolk crab stick chips

Warning: once you start, it’s hard to stop! Thankfully, these imitation crab stick chips are actually full of protein. Fun fact: they aren’t made of crab but fish. Enjoy them unseasoned as they are just as delicious once air fried.
Depending on your air-fryer, my Actifryer takes 15 mins on 1 side and then additional 5 mins after flipping for the most satisfying crunch.

Airfry chips
Step 1
Wrap crab sticks, one at a time, in paper towel and gently but firmly place between both palms to loosen the crab stick
Step 2
Unwrap the paper towel and further shred crab stick into thin shreds, set aside
Step 3
Place shredded crab sticks in a single layer in air fryer then spray with nonstick oil before airfrying (approx 400F) for 15 mins on 1 side. Flip and airfry for another 5 mins or till light brown/ crispy. Make several batches till all crab sticks are cooked

Season chips (optional)
Step 4
Mix seasoning together in a small bowl then sprinkle liberally over air fried chips immediately after they are ready. This is so that the seasoning sticks to the chips
Step 5
Serve and enjoy. Store any excess in air tight container for up to 1 week
