Instructions
Step 1
Beat egg yolks.
Step 2
Heat half & half and sugar in double boiler until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 3
Temper egg yolks by mixing a ladle of the warmed half & half and sugar before adding the egg yolks to the mixture. Cook until the mixture coats the back of the spoon.
Step 4
Strain mixture and add cream and let to cool, at least 8 hours.
Step 5
Add vanilla when cool.
Step 6
Freeze in ice cream machinje.
