Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/ Gas 4.
Step 2
Grease and line a baking tin with baking parchment
Step 3
Put the chocolate and butter into a large glass bowl and set it over a pan of gently simmering water(don't let the bottom of the bowl touch the water) and leave until melted, stirring occasionally

Leave to cool down
Step 5
Whisk together the sugar and egg using a whisk
Step 6
Add vanilla extract and mix in with a wooden spoon until combined
Step 7
Sift over the flour, coco powder, baking powder and salt then mix.
Step 8
Fold in melted chocolate until smooth and combined
Step 9
Pour into the prepared baking tin, smoothing the top level
Step 10
Bake for 20-35 minutes, until cracked around the edges and soft in the middle, rotating the tin halfway through baking
Step 11
Wash, dry and put away the utensils
Step 12
Leave the cooked brownie in the tin for 10 minutes to cool
Step 13
Cut it into portions and serve
