Toad in the Hole

7 steps
Prep:15minCook:30min
This is my recipe for Toad in the Hole. It’s big so I would recommend cutting it in half. Also I used 35 sausage and that was unnecessary.

Instructions

Step 1
Cook off the sausages about 15 minutes at 375, set aside. I do it in the oven for ease but you can use a pan if you like. Then set the oven to 420.
Step 2
Next grease a baking dish with the vegetable oil and place in the oven.
Step 3
While the pan is heating up whisk together the flour salt and add a dash of pepper if you like.
Step 4
Whisk in the eggs and milk until smooth.
Step 5
Carefully remove the pan from the oven and add the sausages. Pop it back in for 3-5 minutes to warm the sausages back up.
Step 6
Take out the pan with the sausages and pour your batter all over then place it back in the oven cooking it at 420 degrees for 15 minutes then reduce the heat to 375 for another 10-15 minutes until golden and puffed.
Step 7
I served mine up with some fried onions, peas and gravy but you can serve it how you like it.
