Easy Rice Pilaf

Fluffy and full of flavor . Works great as a side dish or even just alone ! I could eat this every day . There is always some Leftovers for the next day also

Instructions

Step 1
Wash basmati rice then drain . Melt butter in a pan with olive oil then dice an onion and sauté until It starts to turn golden . Put the rice into a casserole dish then add the sautéed onions and butter and toss the rice to coat .

Step 2
Prepare hot vegetable or chicken broth then add a pinch of saffron to it and cayenne and black pepper . Pour all over the rice then cover the rice and bake in the oven for 35 minutes at 180c . After it’s cooked remove from the oven and let it sit 20 minutes . After that fluff the rice with a fork and I like to put it in a small buttered bowl or ramekin to make a nice shape for serving .
