Instructions
Step 1
In a separate large dish, fry the onion and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
Step 2
Mix in the tomatoes, sugar, salt and bay leaf.
Step 3
Cover the pan, reduce the heat to low and wait until the sauce thickens.
Step 4
Add the tomato paste, basil, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, mix a little and add the meatballs.
Step 5
Proceed to heat, till the sauce starts to bubble.
