Hamburger Steak
1 lbground beef
⅓ cuponion
chopped
1 tspgarlic powder
1 tsponion powder
2 slicesbread
grounded
1 tspUmami powder
1egg
salt
pepper
Mushroom Sauce
Instructions
Step 1
Use a food processor to grind bread and set it aside.
Step 2
Combine beef, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, umami powder, salt, pepper, egg, mix well.
Step 3
Divide beef mixture into four patties then flattens to ½” thick oval patties.
Step 4
In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil. Add patties and cook until golden and cooked through, for about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside to keep warm.
Step 5
To the same pan, melt butter. Add mushrooms and onions and cook until softened, for about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add thyme, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and let simmer.
Step 7
Add flour, heavy cream, and taste. Add salt and pepper if you desire. Let simmer until thickened, for about 5 minutes.
Step 8
Return the hamburger steak to the skillet and spoon sauce over.
