Step 1
Heat olive oil in large stockpot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, red pepper flakes and by leaf and cook, stirring frequently, until onion is translucent, about 3-5min
Step 2
stir in tomatoes and mash until broken into smaller pieces. stir in heavy cream and brown sugar
Step 3
bring to boil and reduce heat and simmer until thickened 8-10min. remove bay leaf
Step 4
Puree with immersion blender. stir in vegetable broth until heated. about 2min. Add salt and pepper to taste
Step 5
garnish with Parsley and grilled cheese and serve
