Alex's Version: Chinese Braised Pork (Hong Sao Rou 角煮)

9 steps
Prep:10minCook:1h
Chinese Braised Pork, also known as Hong Shao Rou or Red Cooked Pork, is a popular dish in Chinese cuisine that is made by simmering pork belly in a flavorful broth until it becomes tender and succulent. The dish is characterized by its deep red color, which is achieved by cooking the pork in a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, and spices. We cook this meat and add it to miso ramen along with some corn and scallions for a completed dish! The leftover meat is great with white rice for a leftover lunch the next day!
