Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl combine brown sugar and cornstarch.
Step 2
Set aside.
Step 3
In a sauce pan combine white sugar, salt, half and half and whipping cream.
Step 4
Bring to a boil.
Step 5
Gradually whisk the hot mixture into the brown sugar/cornstarch combo.
Step 6
Pour back in to saucepan and return to stove top.
Step 7
Add the stick of butter and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly until mixture thickens (3-5 minutes).
Step 8
Simmer for 1 minute and stir in vanilla.
Step 9
Pour into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
Step 10
Bake 375 for 25-30 minutes.
