Instructions

Step 1
Brown ground beef over medium-high heat and break up into small chunks. Keep browning until all fat is rendered. Drain most fat off and keep browning until the beef starts to make a brown crust on the pan but careful not to burn it.
Step 2
Turn heat down to medium and add onion and garlic powder, salt, and worcestershire sauce and stir it in over the heat for about 30 seconds.
Step 3
Add a splash or red wine to deglaze the pan.
Step 4
Add both cans of tomatoes, bay leaves, and basil.
Step 5
Bring back to a boil and turn down the heat to medium-low. Cook uncovered and let simmer for 1 hour. Cover and cook for an additional hour.
Step 6
Add salt to taste.
Step 7
Serve with noodles and bread. Top with cheese.
