Mama's Dressing

We had this dressing every the Thanksgiving as kids and it's requested all the time.

Instructions

Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 350. Lightly butter a large baking dish - should either be a deep 9x13 pan or an 11x15 pan.

Saute bell peppers & onions in 2 tbsp salted butter until translucent

Combine both dressing mixes in large pan

Beat 2 eggs together then add to 16 oz of chicken broth

Add sauteed peppers & onions to the mixed dressings in the large pan. Mix to evenly distribute
Step 6
Pour egg & broth mixture evenly across the dressing mixture in the large pan. Mix in the pan to combine. Add additional chicken broth until moist enough. You will know it's moist enough when you can easily make balls with the dressing mix.
Step 7
Gentle pat the dressing mixture down with the back of your spoon to make it somewhat even along the top - doesn't have to be perfect. This just helps the dressing mixture eliminate holes.
Step 8
Melt the full stick of butter (8 Tbsp) in the microwave and pour over the entire pan of dressing.
Step 9
Bake in the oven at 350 for 30-40 min until the top looks golden brown and the are pieces starting to look dark brown. This will ensure there is some crunch to the top!
