Instructions
Step 1
Heat 1 tsp oil in a frying pan to medium hot, add onion and fry until coloured but not burned. Add mushrooms and continue to cook together for a few mins stirring regularly
Step 2
Add 100 - 150ml boiling water, stock cube, Worcester and mustard to pan and turn heat down to simmer. Reduce down for 10 to 15 minutes until most of the water has evaporated and consistency is thick and gloopy
Step 3
In a separate pan, add a teaspoon of oil and heat to hot. Diced the steak to about 1cm cubes (or smaller), then season and toss in the flour. Transfer to the hot pan and flash cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
Step 4
Stir steak into the 'gravy', then set aside to chill until ready for use. (Note: Ready made pastry can be used, then just cook for 20 mins).
