Instructions
Step 1
Mix the flours, baking soda and salt in a bowl
Step 2
In a jug, combine the treacle with the buttermilk and mix til fully incorporated
Step 3
Make a welkl in the centre of your dry mix and add the buttermilk mix. Stir with a knife "round about and cut through the mix
Step 4
Combine into a dough with hands - DO NOT KNEAD OR OVER MIX
Step 5
Once combined, pop into a tin and make a cut with a sharp knife down the centre. If baking without a tin, shape the loaf into a round and make a cut in the shape of a cross. The cut should go deep through the dough, but not all the way through.
Step 6
Bake at 180 in a fan oven for 40 minutes
Step 7
Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
