POTATO GRATIN RECIPE

POTATO GRATIN RECIPE
Preheat oven 180°c fan forced. Thinly slice 1.5kg peeled potatoes (any variety). Use a knife, mandolin or food processor. Arrange the potatoes in a baking dish. Combine 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter, 2 cups full fat pouring cream (or thickened cream), 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic and 1 tsp salt. Pour over potato bake. Sprinkle with 1 cup melting cheese (I used tasty). Garnish with thyme sprigs (optional). Cover with foil and bake 1 hour 15 mins. Remove foil and grill 15 minutes until golden.
Make ahead: Cook as per the recipe, cover with foil and refrigerate up to 48 hours prior to your event. Keep covered and reheat in a 180° oven for 45 mins.
