Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 F
Step 2
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in small bowl and set aside.
Step 3
Cream butter, both sugars, and vanilla extract together in electric mixer at medium speed. About 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add egg and beat at medium speed until blended. About 15 seconds, scrape the bowl.
Step 5
Add the flour mixture and mix on low speed for 15 seconds. Scrape the bowl.
Step 6
Add the chocolate chips and blend on low speed until they are mixed in. 8 to 10 seconds.
Step 7
Drop the cookies by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheets. Flatten each cookie to quarter inch thickness.
Step 8
Bake the cookies until they are firm, golden brown, with deep golden edges. About 12 minutes. Allow to cool on the sheet.
