To check for doneness, poke a fork all the way into the center of a potato. No need to remove the foil, poke right through it. If you can easily press the fork in them, they are done. If you feel resistance, then keep on cooking.

Instructions
Step 1
Poke potatoes a few times with a fork, rub with oil and sprinkle with salt. Wrap each potato in a square sheet of aluminum foil — place in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Step 2
Cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours - or LOW for 7-8, or until fork tender whichever comes first.
Step 3
Carefully unwrap potatoes, slice in half with a knife, fluff, and top with desired toppings.
