For the Sauce
Instructions
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients for the meatballs, excluding the olive oil, in a large bowl. Mix with your hands and form 15 or 20 meatballs, depending on the size of your meatballs.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs and cook, about 10 minutes, turning to cook all sides evenly.
Step 3
Once cooked, remove meatballs to a plate lined with a paper towel.
Step 4
To same frying pan, add onion and saute a couple of minutes. Next, add garlic, saute another minute.
Step 5
Add the tomatoes, oregano, and salt and pepper, stir to combine all sauce ingredients.
Step 6
Return meatballs to pan and cover with a lid, lower to a simmer. Cook 15-20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened a bit.
