Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 400˚F.

2. Split each date on one side.
Step 3
3. Fill each date with a few pieces of parmesan cheese and tightly seal.
Step 4
4. Wrap each date with a third strip of prosciutto that’s been folded in half lengthwise(alternatively wrap each date with a third strip of bacon) and seal with a toothpick.

5. Transfer prosciutto or bacon wrapped dates to a rimmed baking sheet, about 1 inch apart.
Step 6
6. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, turning occasionally until bacon has crisped.
Step 7
7. Remove from oven, cool slightly and carefully remove toothpicks.
Step 8
8. Transfer dates to a platter and drizzle with honey, herbs and nuts (if using). Serve.
