Apple Crisp!
8 steps
Prep:50minCook:35min
An easy apple crisp recipe with streusel topping! This is a great recipe to make during fall, and it’s so easy to put together!
Notes: The apples will be softer the longer you cook them, but be careful not to let the topping get too crisp if you decide to up the cook time. Lowering the oven temperature to 325 degrees can help with this.
Enjoy!

Instructions
Step 1
Mix flour and sugar together with a pinch of salt.
flour½ cup
white sugar½ cup
brown sugar½ cup
Step 2
Add chilled butter cubes and cut in with a pastry cutter or two forks, until the butter is pea-to-rice sized and you can clump the mixture into a ball with your fist and crumble it back into streusel-sized pieces.
butter½ cup
Step 3
Mix in the oats. Put back in refrigerator while you make the filling.
Step 4
Cut apples into pieces the length of your thumb, and about half the thickness. You can adjust this, keeping in mind that larger, thicker pieces will yield a more chunky filling and smaller, thinner pieces a more jam-like one.
Step 5
Toss apples with lemon juice and spices.

Step 6
Pour into a shallow pan or divide between six ramekins and crumble streusel mixture on top.
Step 7
Bake in 360 degree oven for about 30 minutes for a full pan, 22 for ramekins. Times will vary, but a good rule is if the apples are bubbling, the crisps are close to being done. The streusel topping should also be slightly golden, but the darker it gets, the crunchier it’ll be.
Step 8
Serve with vanilla ice cream (YES, IT IS NECESSARY) and enjoy!
