Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Whisk together wine, oil, sugar and salt in a 3 quart rectangular baking dish.
Step 3
Add onions.
Step 4
Cover with foil.
Step 5
Roast 30 minutes.
Step 6
Stir onions.
Step 7
Roast uncovered, and stirring once until onions are tender and caramelized and liquid in the bottom of dish is thickened about 30 minutes more.
Step 8
Garnish with thyme.
