Instructions
Step 1
Melt butter and sugar together in a saucepan on the hob with low heat
Step 2
Add golden syrup once butter is almost completely melted
Step 3
Mix in saucepan until butter no longer sits on top
Step 4
Turn off hob and pour in the oats
Step 5
Mix in the oats until golden brown and there's no mixture left at the bottom

Pour in the self-raising flour and stir in

Pre-heat the oven to 180⁰C (160⁰C fan) and lightly grease baking tray with butter
Step 8
Pour oat mixture into the baking tray and spread evenly, pressing the mixture down so it adheres together
Step 9
Place baking tray in middle oven and cook for 20–25 minutes
Step 10
Remove from oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before scoring where you want to cut, then leave for 30+ minutes to harden
Step 11
Cut up flapjacks and serve!
