Instructions
Step 1
Slice thick hunky slices of challah.
Step 2
Whisk the eggs, salt, milk and vanilla together until homogenous.
Step 3
Lay the bread slices in the egg mixture allowing them to soak for about 10 minutes per side.
Step 4
Add a knob of butter to a medium heated pan and allow to sizzle.
Step 5
Gently place the egg soaked challah into the pan and allow to slowly cook over a medium heat.
Step 6
Sprinkle over some coconut or dark brown sugar for an extra crunch.
Step 7
Flip and gently fry for another few minutes allowing a crust to form.
Step 8
Serve with ruby hued fruit and a sprinkle of coconut or dark brown sugar.
Step 9
Tip: I cook any reminding egg mixture as a small draped sweet omelet and serve with a dollop of jam.
