¼ cupcream of rice
¼ cupcorn starch
2 teaspoonsvanilla
added when cooled
12eggs
beaten
1 stripLemon peel
2 quartsmilk
1 poundfilo dough
1 poundsweet butter
melted for brushing filo
Syrup
Instructions
Step 1
Put ingredients in one pot and mix. Put on stove medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon or wire wish until filling thickens and comes to a boil. Put aside completely cooled or cold. Add vanilla.
Step 2
Take a large baking pan and put layers of filo (about 1/2lb) brushing each sheet With butter until bottom of pan is completely lined. Poor and filling (remove lemon peel) cover with rest of filo again brushing each sheet.
Step 3
Cut into squares and bake in 350゚ oven for one hour or until golden brown. Remove from oven and pour over syrup (syrup must be cold) until all is saturated.
