Instructions
Step 1
Put the rice in a heavy based saucepan
Step 2
Add about half the milk and about 5 tsp of sugar (this is really a matter of personal taste and you should try it about half way through cooking to check it's sweet enough for your tastes and if not then add a bit more, remember that the sultanas/raisins at the end will add sweetness too so don't get carried away)
Step 3
Bring to the boil stirring, when it boils turn down quickly to a gently simmer
Step 4
Simmer uncovered, stirring regularly, for about 20mins, gradually adding more milk as it is absorbed, until rice is cooked
Step 5
Once cooked add as many sultanas as you like to warm through before serving
