Ingredients
8 servings
3 cupsunbleached all-purpose flour
1 tablespoonbaking powder
0.5 teaspooonbaking soda
3 tablespoonsmaple syrup
8 tablespoonsunsalted butter

1egg

1 cupbuttermilk
cold
1 cupbacon
diced, cooked, in 1/4 to 1/2in bits

Instructions
Step 1
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar.
Step 2
add cold pats of butter and mix till mixture is crumbly
Step 3
Whisk together the egg, buttermilk, and maple syrup.
Step 4
Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, toss in the cooked bacon Mix till everything is even.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with a piece of parchment. Pat and flatten into a 1/2in disc.
Step 6
Cut the dough into 8 triangles and seperate 1 inch apart.
Step 7
Place the scones in the freezer for 30 minutes to chill. Preheat oven at 425 degrees.
Step 8
Brush the chilled scones with milk or cream and add the sugar on top.
Step 9
Bake the chilled scones 18-20 minutes or until golden brown
Step 10
Let scones cold down and enjoy!
