Instructions
Step 1
Mix sugar with hot water until melted.
Step 2
Add water mixture into 130g of sticky rice flour first in a big bowl, mix well. Further add in 35g of sticky rice flour to mix. Knead the dough until surface becomes smooth. Drizzle cooking oil, continue to knead until oil is fully mixed in. Rest dough for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Once rested, roll the dough into a long log gently, divide the log into small even dough sizes.
Step 4
Roll each small dough into a round rice ball-(roughly 15-16 small dough pieces), dip them in raw white sesame seeds, and make sure sesame ball is fully covered with sesame seeds.
Step 5
Heat up plenty of cooking oil in a sauce pot, once it reaches 302 ℉, start placing sesame rice balls in hot oil to deep fry on low heat.
Step 6
Gently press down rice balls as they start to float, repeat a few times (this will help rice balls to get fluffy inside) until sesame ball turns golden brown. Remove golden sesame rice balls from oil to drain, serve warm immediately.
